Events

An event is a video that can be delivered with:

a live video via a Microsoft Teams Meeting . This is called a live event.

a recorded video saved on Microsoft OneDrive and shared with learners. This is called a recorded event.
Event Group
Events are organized within Event Groups. Example of event groups include: Coding, Robotics, AI, Micro-electronics, Welding, etc.

In the
Events > Events Grouppage, click theCreate an Event Groupbutton. -
Add the name and description for the group.

Groups are displayed alphabetically on the site using the
Sort Code. -
Upload an image for the group. The image should have a maximum file size of 250Kb. It is recommended that the image be approximately square shaped, with a length of between 150px - 250px. The image should have a white or transparent background to match the site’s theme.
Event

In the Event Groups list, click the admin button to the far right and click on the
Eventslink. -
In the
Eventspage, click theCreate an Eventbutton. -
Add the name and description for the event.

Set the event type, either a ‘live video’ or ‘recorded video’.

Events are displayed alphabetically on the site using the
Sort Code. -
Add the Launch Date for the event and set the Occupational Area.

Add the Launch Time for the event, for international events add the time zone, eg. 10:00 AM Atlantic Standard Time (AST).

Add the duration for the event, eg. 2hrs.

Add a related Verifiable Credential. This is optional.

Provide an email address for the Presenter of the event to login, access and manage Microsoft Teams meeting and OneDrive shared files.
Featured Event
A featured event will be display in your organization’s page. Only one event can be featured. To feature an event, edit it event and set the Is Featured checkbox.
Live Event
Learners will attend the live online event via a Microsoft Teams meeting (event). When setting up the meeting (event) on Microsoft Teams, ensure you Require unverified participants to verify their info before joining in the Meeting options. In this way, you will check that the participant’s email that they login to Microsoft Teams matches the username that enrolled for the event. This is important for paid events.

In the
Eventslist, click on the admin button on the far right and click on theTeams Meetinglink. -
In the
Event Teams Meetingpage, copy the meeting’s join link and passcode from Microsoft Teams and add it to the form. -
When the learner joins the meeting verify the email is enrolled for the event before allowing them to enter from the lobby.
